The Michigan School Safety Initiative (MSSI) works with Michigan schools to improve school safety and prevent violence. In this webinar, we will introduce our comprehensive, evidence-based approach to school safety and the free services we offer, including one-on-one support. Our resources are designed to assist school communities in choosing school safety measures that best fit their needs and unique environments. We offer free, one-on-one support to help schools start and maintain improved safety practices.
Effective school safety involves the engagement of a variety of school and community members. This webinar is designed for school administrators, all school staff, school board members, caregivers, mental health professionals, law enforcement/first responders, community groups, or community members interested in improving school safety.

Presenters
Justin Heinze, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan, Director of the National Center for School Safety, and Co-Director for Michigan School Safety Initiative.
Isabella DeMino, AM is the Evaluation Specialist for the Michigan School Safety Initiative.
Miles Haney is the Training Coordinator for the Michigan School Safety Initiative.
Sarah Taylor, MA is the Instructional Designer for the Michigan School Safety Initiative.
Dan Karrick, MPA is the School Safety Specialist for the Michigan School Safety Initiative.
